Multiplayer video analysis

[UPDATED2] Excuse me for being a little bit excited but THE FIRST MULTIPLAYER VIDEO IS ONLINE! AC-130 killstreak reward.

We knew it was coming but somehow it surprised us just a little bit! First, check out the video, we'll analyze it later on. Sit back and enjoy the first Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer action caught on video!

Multiplayer analysis

This is Infinity Ward's answer to the many (as in MANY) requests for a multiplayer video. Let's start at the beginning:

1) "Customized Killstreaks -- Unlock and personalize your killstreak loadout"

Looks like the AC130 is one of 15 different unlockables. This allows you to be the one at the guns of the brutal gunship AC130, much like you did in the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare singleplayer campaign. It also confirms you will need higher killstreaks to call in air support (or any other reinforcements for that matter).

2) Next up a laptop which is used to man the AC-130. You will take it's gunnery position but you will stay on the battlefield so you will have to find a good hiding spot before you do so!

3) Now some real gameplay; We see an enemy with possibly the LMG HK MG4 running away. We also see the new UAV radar with very bright dots and part of a enemy airplane (unlockable?). Bottom left, under "ranger" you can see the XP (experience) bar, currently 1/10th of the next rank. Bottom right shows flashbangs (or stun grenades) and one regular grenade. Our player has linked the AC130 to the right arrow on the directional pad.

4) This is one of the animations that is completely redone from scratch. Note the UAV radar icon on the bottom left, attached to the right directional pad. The gun is the Bushmaster ACR

5) FN FAL is now confirmed, more on this later!

6) "Buzzkill! Stopped enemy short of a killstreak. (+100)"
Pretty much confirms the challeges will be back in Modern Warfare 2

7) This shot confirms the heartbeat sensor can be used as an attachment in multiplayer, besides the UAV radar. You can also see an enemy on the roof on the left.

8) The AT4 (one-shot homing anti-tank weapon) has been taken to disable the AC130.

9) The homing AT4 misses target...

10) Gunners position in the AC130. That's right, in multiplayer! Don't know where you go while in the air though...

11) This is probably some kind of multiplayer perk icon but even in HD we can't make out what it is exactly...

12) NOT the best time to reload... Nice destructable environments

13) This looks to be an improved ragdoll animation when this soldier flies through the air after being hi hit by an grenade/explosion

14) Pin in left hand, semtex in the right hand... Say bye bye 402!

15) Semtex challenge completed! Anyone else think that copier machine is HUGE? We hope that is one prop they're still working on...

16) Payback challenge completed! These must be the easy challenges.
