O Cristo Redentor

Special Ops; Alpha - O Cristo Redentor

O Cristo Redentor is an Alpha category Spec Ops mission, which reuses the favela area from 'Takedown', in Act I in the single player campaign. The objective in O Cristo Redentor is to sweep the favela and wipe out the Brazilian militia present in the area. The name of the mission is Portuguese for 'Christ the Redeemer', which is the name of the massive statue of Jesus Christ in the background of the map. It can be seen in the loading screen, above the member of the militia, atop the mountain.

Gameplay

O Cristo Redentor is one of the easier ops to complete on Regular, and to a lesser extent, Hardened. It becomes more difficult on Veteran however, due to the fact that you are not allowed as many civilian casualties, and you do not have as much health. During the mission, enemy weapons encountered are standard militia equipment, such as the FN FAL, AK-47 and Mini Uzi. However, two sets of Akimbo weapons can be found: Akimbo Desert Eagles, and Akimbo Mini Uzis. Of the two, the Desert Eagles are a better choice due to the fact that at close range, firing them both can work like a shotgun, providing huge damage at point blank range. They are also useful against dogs if you fire them 'Matrix-style' (ie. fire one and then the other in a sequence).
